Apprenticeship is a program where one "Earns While They Learn" the trade.

Apprentices are paid a percentage of the rate paid to a Journeyman Wireman for the job they are on.

The Current Journeyman Wireman rate is $28.41 per hour.

The percentage paid to the apprentice is:

     1. 1st year, 1st Period: 55% / $15.63 per hour

     2. 1st year, 2nd Period: 60% / $17.05 per hour

     3. 2nd year, 3rd Period: 65% / $18.47 per hour

     4. 3rd year, 4th Period: 70% / $19.89 per hour

     5. 4th year, 5th Period: 75% / $21.31 per hour

     6. 5th year, 6th Period: 85% / $24.15 per hour

With some minor calculations, one can see how an apprentice can earn over $150,000.00 during their apprenticeship and have an income of nearly $65,000.00 per year after completion. Keep in mind that contracts are negotiated periodically and wages and benefits are subject to change.


An apprentice will earn 45 college credits at the completion of this program.
