Brothers and Sisters, it's been over a year since we first began the process to have new sign faces created to be installed in the large existing sign frame on Local 238 property. We hope everyone is as happy as we are that actual work began today on our sign.

Please welcome these 5 new members into Local 238 membership. They were sworn in on the Harrah's Casino Resort job site in Cherokee, NC on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Organizer Rick Sluder performed the ceremony with Office Manager Rachael Travis, and Steward Nate Johnston witnessing.
The Executive Board would like to thank all of the applicants for their interest in filling the vacancy on the Executive Board. The group of applicants included some of Local 238's best and brightest minds, and we have no doubt that many of them will hold union leadership positions in the future.

Brothers and Sisters, please welcome Construction Wireman Dustin Tompkins into membership in Local 238, IBEW. Dustin was sworn in by Business Manager Phillips at Harrah's Casino Resort in front of about 125 of his brother and sister electricians, who are wiring a 725 room hotel and convention center in Cherokee, NC.

Please welcome the following new members into Local 238. Isaiah Holmes, Steven Barlow, Zakkary Levin, Spencer Magaw, Justin Blasy, and Jarred Black were all presented for membership at our December Executive Board Meeting.
Brothers and Sisters, please welcome new members Clay Wagers (L) and Nic Clubb (r) to Local 238 membership. These young men are 1st year apprentices and are currently working for BESCO (Knoxville) on the new Tom Apodaca Sciences Building on the campus of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee NC.
Brothers and Sisters please welcome new member Joe Travaglini to Local 238 membership. Brother Travaligni is a CE-3 and a former member of Local 68 Denver, Colorado. Joe's membership application to Local 238 was approved by the E-Board on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Brothers and Sisters, Local 238 is pleased to welcome Grant Gelette into membership. Grant presented 14,000 verifiable work hours and a NC State Electrical Contractor's License to Local 238 organizers and requested to challenge the 10th District hands-on exam. Grant passed the 10th District hands-on test on Friday, November 13, 2020.
