Masks Once Again Required at the Union Hall

Brothers and Sisters, From June 30 to August 1 the hospitalized Covid patient count in North Carolina has risen from 381 to 1359 and we are at 2200 new cases per day. Florida had 21,000 new cases on Saturday July 31. The rate of new Covid cases is now climbing exponentially.

Our New Local 238 Sign is Here!!

Brothers and Sisters, Our new Local 238 sign has been installed at the union hall. The new sign is a retrofit of an old backlit sign. The legs and frame have been sanded and painted gloss black and the Local 238 backlit signs are in with one facing each direction.

New Journeyman Wireman

Brothers and Sisters, Joel Hord has taken and passed the 10th District written and hands-on Journeyman tests given by Local 238 and achieved the classification of Journeyman Inside Wireman. Joel is employed by Gephart Electric at the Harrah's Casino Resort Expansion Project in Cherokee NC. Congratulations Joel.

Brothers and Sisters, James Cash has completed all the requirements for graduation from the Asheville Electrical JATC program and has achieved the status of Journeyman Inside Wireman. Here he is holding his first JW dues receipt. James is employed by Gephart Electric at the Harrah's Casino Resort Expansion Project in Cherokee NC. Congratulations James.

A New Contract Has Been Negotiated!

Brothers and Sisters, Local 238 IBEW and Atlantic Coast NECA have agreed to a new 3 year contract. Attached to this article is a summary of the new contract. The new contract takes effect on June 1, 2021. The Negotiation Committee would like to thank the members of Local 238 for your input, ideas, and support during this negotiation.

New Sign Starts!!

NEW SIGN STARTS TODAY!! Brothers and Sisters, it's been over a year since we first began the process to have new sign faces created to be installed in the large existing sign frame on Local 238 property. We hope everyone is as happy as we are that actual work began today on our sign.
