Hello, my name is Luke Wiley, and I’m an undergraduate at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I am a psychology major, but I want to primarily study issues within the workplace. I am studying the effects of being in a union, particularly on things like stress, burnout, and feelings of financial security.
FOREST HILLS – Kolleen T. Scott Begley, 54, died peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, Dec. 7, 2022, holding the hand of her husband, Local 238 Journeyman Wireman Alan D. Begley, during a weeks-long parade of loving family and friends.
Brother Larry S. Keenan, a 57-year member of IBEW Local 238 passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2022. Brother Keenan was a Journeyman Inside Wireman, as well as a past apprenticeship instructor, Training Director, Recording Secretary, and Executive Board member. Brother Keenan's family held a private ceremony.

Local 238 will be holding Foreman Development Series Training for Journeyman Wiremen and Apprentices who wish to attend. Classes will be held on the last Saturday of each month from January through October of 2022. There are 16 modules in the complete course of study.

Brother Zachary Aungst has completed all the requirements for graduation from the Asheville Electrical JATC program and has achieved the status of Journeyman Inside Wireman. Brother Aungst is President of the Local 238 RENEW Committee, is a delegate to the WNC Central Labor Council, and was selected by the CLC to attend the North Carolina AFL-CIO Convention this year.
